15 Unbeaten. Semi-Finals Bound. Nashville SC Turned Up the Heat.

Fifteen straight unbeaten matches. Semi-finals of the U.S. Open Cup. And I got to see it live.

Not gonna lie, that first half? Sloppy. One of the sloppiest I’ve seen us play all season. Blind crosses, poor movement in the box, and then the cherry on top, a Jack Maher own goal. Down 2–1 at the break, you could feel the tension. But whatever was said in that locker room worked because Nashville came out swinging in the second half.

Sam Surridge lit the spark at 53’. Perez? Absolutely filthy touches to break through the back line and serve up Sam’s second at 72’. From there, it was like a switch flipped.

Then Najar decided to drop an absurd golazo that had me and my buddy saying two things at the same time: 1) No way that should’ve gone in. 2) What the hell was the keeper doing? Comedy.

And to top it all off? Walker Zimmerman climbed the ladder and buried a header. Funny enough, seconds before I said, “Zimmerman’s probably thinking, ‘This is how you do headers, Palacios.’” And boom, goal.

Hell of a night. Now the big test, Saturday in Miami against Messi and an Inter squad that’s on fire too. Let’s see if this streak’s got legs.
